Hey so I've been wanting to get into PC gaming for a while, but it has always seemed like something too expensive. That is until I saw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3f6INgYBmGo&feature=c4-overview-vl&list=PLADA5B91FFC11D251

This video showed how to build a $400 rig, but the video card, the XFX HD7770 CORE edition, seemed a tad outdated. With all of the price drops on AMD GPUs recently, I was thinking of paying the $200 dollars extra for http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-DL-DVI-I-SL-DVI-D-PCI-Express-11197-03-40G/dp/B009B6Y01Y/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1377026851&sr=1-2&keywords=hd7970

So, my question is not only if the extra money is truly worth it, but also if there are any better versions of the HD7970. I've heard good things about Sapphire video cards, but I would be interested in knowing of the versions made by other good brands. And finally, if I do decide to go with the Sapphire HD7970, would I need to upgrade any parts of the $400 rig. Would it require a larger power source? How much larger? Would I need a better mobo? Sorry for all the questions. I'm a total PC noob.

That 7970 is great sapphire is a very reliable brand other brands include XFX, EVGA, HiS, MSI, ASUS, and Gigabyte. What PSU were you thinking of getting?

Yeah 430W is too little now. You may want to go with a CX 500 or CX 600. Because they recommend a minimum of 450W for the Graphics card in question other than that a great build.

This is the exact build I'am currently building apart from the PSU and GFX Card
