How difficult would it be to install one of these in my laptop?

My laptop is a Lenovo Y500 and I'm looking to remove the tray drive and replace it with one of these. Is it hard to do? And would it void my warranty or not?

as long as you dont break anything or break any void warranty stickers you won't void the warranty (at least that's been my experience). You won't have any warranty on that part, but the rest of the computer is warrantied still.

i dont believe it's hard to do (compared to certain modifications), just make sure it's compatabile

its super easy, there is a switch under the battery area you push and then there is a button on the back of the laptop you push and the optical drive falls out.
