HDMI to HDMI not working everything else workds.

I have a very frustating problem with my connection between computer and monitor.

Why nothing more came up from what I was writing first I have no idea. But here is the full meassage:

Okay here is a very tricky problem. I was upgrading my computer from win 7 to win 8. During installation everything was fine, until it came to a point where I had to enter my name and select the avatar to use. My screen went black. I thought it was the computer that crashed until I noticed the the ligh diods was still on, so I connected the computer to the TV, full picture was available. Now I have tested some things between the computer and the monitor.
When I connect HDMI to HDMI no signal. When I connect HDMI to DVI full signal. DVI to HDMI full signal. So it seems there is a problem with the signal traveling from HDMI exit on computer to HDMI entry on monitor. Does anybody have some kind of solution for that?
