So, I got a new 1100ish $ pc and these are the specs :

Amd fx 6300 3.5ghz running at stock with stock cooler

2 times 4 gb ddr3 1600 mhz kingston ram

Asus gtx 760 dc2oc 2gb gddr5

asrock extreme 970 r2.0

western digital 320 gb green (i think) hard drive

Since I work, I told the IT guys to format the wd 320 gb drive and install everything.

When I did get my pc I added 2 more drives into it, and when turning it on I noticed they did not format the drive before installing win 7 on it again and it previously run with a intel c2d cpu system.

I was suprised they'd do this.

All the games were still here.

I then installed bf3 and even on medium settings 1280*720 i still get only around 40-50 fps on maps such as noshahr canals.

I've checked the ram and it is perfectly fine.

Is the cpu bottlenecking me, is the problem the unformatted drive, or is the problem the drive again which is a bit old ?

Hmm, but why are there people getting a lot better fps at bf3 with the same setup ?

I did order a kingston ssd and a hyper 212 evo so I'll report here.

I mean I've read that the fx 6300 won't bottleneck.

You really sure the problem isn't due to windows being installed on an already windows installed hard drive ?
