...Interestingly, EVGA has announced that the PSU will also be offered in an 80 Plus Gold variant which will be released in the near future for $199.99 (after a $10 MIR).
How can you release a product in the near future when its been available on the market for more than a couple of months? It's currently available for $189.99 after a $10 MIR.

Maybe they switched things up during editing.

From what I read, the SuperNova is based on a Superflower's Platinum-rated design. I'm guessing Redundant incorrectly presumed EVGA launched the Platinum-rated model first by simply re-branding Superflower's design instead of the cost-reduced Gold version that is already out there and ended up switching them around in release order.

Only the SuperNOVA 1000 G2(120-G2-1000-XR), 1000 P2(220-P2-1000-XR) and 1300 G2((120-G2-1300-XR) models, so far, are made by Super Flower. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending these models to anyone.

The 500W model is made by HEC/COMPUCASE. The 650W and 750W models are made by FSP Group. The 1500W model is made by Etasis. I wouldn't recommend any of these models since there are competitors that offer better performing products.

The professional reviews of the two G2 models have been quite favorable (i.e. excellent).

EVGA has listened to its customers and seriously upgraded their OEM for the 1000 and 1300W power supplies. Their GTX 780 is miles above their GTX 680 offerings, too. Looks to me like EVGA is back to being the company enthusiasts want it to be. Nice job EVGA!

My only regret here is that I already have great power supplies, and have no need to buy a new one :) .

I have a PC Power and Cooling 750W PSU that's pushing 6 years strong, however with my new build it may start to stress the PSU. If it ever dies I will get this one. EVGA customer support has always been great to me when it comes to mobo and GPUs.
