Call of duty 4 multiplayer problems

I just downloaded cod 4 and it works good on single player but the problem comes at multiplayer I downloaded patch 1.6 AND 1.7 BUT it still doesnt work please help me and one other thing its in russian and when I try to join any server something big in and yellow in russian comes plz help me
