Cpu tempertures, New builder.

I just built my own pc for the first time. I have a I7 4770k with a corsair h100i cooler. Corsair link tells me my pump temp was at 40 degrees after a few hours of gaming. Nothing intensive just Diablo 3. But I also have speed fan and it said my cpu was 128 degrees. Both Celsius. Could that be possible. Is speed fan wrong by chance? I have nothing over clocked.

That seems wrong at every turn. The Corsair seems to be on par after gaming, but 128? Are you sure thats C? If so your pc would not be running, it would have shut off well before then.

That's what I was thinking that it would have just shut down on its own. SpeedFan must be messed up. Know any better apps for cpu temperature monitoring other then speed fan?

I use CCC, msi afterburner, razer game booster, and sometimes the BIOS to see my temps, Im not sure about the best but using alot gives me a good average. Corsair link should be right on.

Thanks for the good info and quick response. Ill try a few of those.

Yeah, I used Speed fan and it said I was running 90C idle, I was just dumbfounded how it could be that off. I was running 45 idle every other program.
