Going from a 95watt to 125watt cpu wont increase power use that much im pretty sure ur power supply can handle an extra 30watts and 50+ if u overclock. Also the fps issue isnt the cpu, but it may be part of it. The 6670 is not the best card for bf3, ill be surprised if u can play medium with decent fps.

Play bf3, tweak the settings to where its smooth usually the Anti Aliasing causes alot of performance lag, and even though bulldozer cpus like ur 4100 were not the best it shouldnt be bottlenecking a 6670. To be sure again play bf3 use a hardware monitor to monitor cpu and gpu use like hwinfo64, or msiafterburner in game usage. and make sure ur gpu is near 100% and monitor where the cpu is

I've tried pretty much every tweak still no change my friend Haas a computer that is around 3 to 4 years older than mine and he's getting 40 to 30 fps making me think there's a fault with my hardware I'll will do what you have said but I can't see myself getting any better performance

Make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for the GPU and not the ones from the disc that comes with the GPU. You should be running Catalyst 13.4.

What preset did u start with? I'd think a 6670 should do bf3 on med, as a A10 with just the igpu and decent ram will. BF3 is quite and gpu and cpu intense game, it uses quite abit of my 6 cores and all of my gpu obviously on ultra, but did u monitor ur cpu usage? with the small OC i think it'd be fine

my cpu usage was around 60 to 70% i just dont get why its playing up i dont have nothing going on in the background only norton security i started with auto preset do you know how to reset the whole bf3 settings i mean it doesnt really matter what i do within bf3 video settings the change in fps is not much on ultra it dont really work on high barely works on medium fps is below 15 and low it kinda looks like its glitching really choppy

auto picks the settings to ur hardware the best it can but it doesnt do so well. try low and move up to med etc and there is a custom preset that u can mess with each setting. Where it says auto there should be an arrow that u can move it.

well really at the moment its just the video card, the cpu is still decent. So u tried even the low preset and get bad fps? Id say getting a 8320 and something like a 760gtx or 7950 for the $200-250 mark or a 650 ti boost or 7850 will be a good move

ok so iv just tried the msi afterburner again and my gpu is basically at 100% usage and my cpu is at around 60% i stiil think im going to need to upgrade my cpu and eventually the gpu but what would you recommend would the 8320 and the 760gtx work well together and would my 500w psu cope with that setup thanx

Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX650Ti 2GB DDR5 PCI-E Graphics Card is this 1 of the gpu's you said about

The fact your GPU is running at 100% and your CPU is only at 60% shows that your GPU is the bottleneck in the system and is holding the CPU back. An HD 6670 is not really a gaming card by any standards and I am not surprised at all that it can't handle BF3, it's one of the most hardware dependent games made to date. My suggestion would be to throw in a higher end GPU as lazy boy stated. Even a $175 7850/650 Ti Boost will be LIGHT YEARS faster than that 6670. I would personally leave the CPU for now and see how the GPU upgrade works for ya. If you are happy with gameplay after the GPU great, if not then upgrade the CPU.

I bought the nvidia gygabyte 640 ti installed it and WOW what an amazing difference getting 60+ fps on pretty much any game I throw at it on medium settings which I'm happy with because my gameplay on bf3 pc is so much better than on console than guys for the advice
