thank you for your suggestions, I'm probably going to go with that OCZ you suggested but alot of people were telling me I'm going to need a 750 or 600 watt. so this 550 will be more then enough to power my i7 and everything?I'm sorry i just want to make sure before i buy tomorrow.

Absolutely get a better power supply - Ultra power supplies (well really the entire Ultra brand) - are complete garbage. Do not purchase if you can possibly help it. You want something from Seasonic or Super Flower - those are among the best in the business.

What is your price range? A few power supply vendors like Antec and XFX resell Seasonic PSUs for a discount, they'll be better than anything OCZ makes.

Is your build for gaming? If so, it needs ALOT of work as you will be stuck at low/med settings.

You have WAY too much CPU and a VERY low end GPU. Change the CPU to an i5 4570 and pump as much money into the GPU as possible. Gaming is 80% GPU 20% cPU.

Nope. I have an i3 and have no trouble maxing games. Its ALL about the GPU. You should get n i5 or fx-8320 and send as much as possible on the GPU.

SC2 isn't really anything heavy. I max it with an i3. An i5 and a good GPU will have no problems playing it on ultra. Also 60fps is what you want to shoot for because anything more and your monitor will screen tear.

You should get an i5 and the best GPU you can afford. It would suck to go from playing SC2 on high to playing other games on low because of your GPU. The 550ti is very low end and at 1080p will play most newer games at low settings. Maybe a mix of low and medium.

Get the i5 and put as much money as possible towards the GPU.

but it also makes no sense because my set up right now can run sc2 at extreme without lag i get around 55fps avg and 60 fps when not in battle.

a gtx550ti will struggle with new games at low-mid settings.
