So I'm about to get a 1440p monitor, and I need help on deciding which one. the one I have been looking at was the Asus
PB278Q, any other suggestions?

Solution

Hmm i pretty much figured that and for the price asus, 5ms,PLS=550$ VS viewsonic,12ms thats a no no,IPS=710$

Clear winner GO with the asus

Pardon my french, but "EDIT - I forgot Tom's doesn't allow bad language" that. I've looked into them and the warranty (let alone everything else) is seriously sketchy.

Few reasons

PB278Q has 5ms vs viewsonic has 12ms response time VERY BAD

PB278Q is PLS viewsonic is IPS even tho they are pretty close i would go PLS

PB278Q is around 550$ the viewsonic is around 710$ or more

All in all the PB278Q is a better value

Viewsonic has 12 ms response time, and he won't ever notice it.
Viewsonic is a better brand and has better overall quality.

IPS screen is FAR superior than PLS screen and has much better viewing angles. It stays exactly same no matter from which angle you look at it. Great for multiple people watching movies or playing games or one just being a bit lazy...

Nothing is wrong with spending ~$700 for 1440p display since that is very standard price.

I dont agree with that and if he does a bit of reseach i think he will find the asus to be better and 12ms response time isnt better the 5ms imo
