MOBO doesn't support 8350. Will 8150 work?

I am looking to upgrade my radeon 6850 to a 7950, but my CPU is a fx 6100. Would upgrading to a fx 8150 help bottleneck ing because my MOBO doesn't support the 8350.

If your motherboard has FX 6100 installed then it MUST support FX 8350.

Both have same socket (AM3+) and its impossible that a motherboard and CPU with same sockets do not support each other.
