I'm building a PC for the first time here in the coming days, my only confusion is with motherboards. I'm a gamer, and that's mostly what this PC is for.

Asus mobo: here!
Gigabyte mobo: here!

the build:

CPU: AMD FX-8350
CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212 EVO
Motherboard: ???
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950
Case: Corsair 400R
Power Supply: XFX 550W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified

You are much better off with the asus board when using the 8350. I was also ready to buy the gigabyte ud3 but upon further investigation i FOUND there is a massive overheating problem with that gigabyte board older than revision 4. Asus is top of the line and has a much easier to use motherboard with true UEFI. Unless there is a huge price difference between the revision 4 giga board go with the m5a99fx. no matter what the price is do NOT go with revision 3.. also a great option is the m5a99x the only difference is sata ports and 3 way crossfire but other than that its the same
