Problem in keys of acer aspire

Some of the keys on my acer aspire aren't functioning properly as I click on them.. It's a mutely keys dysfunction ... Could it be something in the software that may have cause it? It's surprising coz its less than a year old and no history of mal handling

Hi, sial. This may be caused by a hardware problem or a software problem. You can try this:
To discart hardware problems try to connect an external USB keyboard. If the external usb keyboard works fine, may be your laptop's keyboard or motherboard are damaged.
To discart software problems, boot your laptop with a UBUNTU LIVE CD. If laptop's keyboard works fine over ubuntu may be a virus or another software malfunction.
