NO OS found

My son did something to my Acer Aspire netbook. it's now telling me i need a boot disk so i got that but now I can't get Windows 7 back on here. when i run bootrec in DOS it says I have 0 operating systems installed. how do i install from the boot disk?

is the hard drive seen in the BIOS?
