I currently have a Nvidia GTX 660 SC.

I'm thinking of buying a Corsair 500w Bronze Edition PSU.

Will this PSU be enough to support the GPU or shall I invest in £30 more and get a 600w power supply (from Corsair aswell)

Any reply would be greatly appreciated.

minimum is 450w for the GTX 660 SC, the card consumes 140w assuming you have this card

which would leave you with 360w remaining for HDDs, ODDs, CPU, RAM, MOBO, etc... it should be fine though, as most CPU/RAM/MOBO rarely draw 200w combined, and 160w remaining is more than enough for all additional components...

you should be fine. I wouldn't try overclocking your CPU, RAM, or GPU on that 500w PSU though.

It's sufficient but I would get a larger one if you plan to upgrade your system or do things like over clocking I usually try to get something 700+ when building PCs but i'll go down to a 600 if I cant find a good deal on a 700+

I have no intention to over clock any component in the system, I have 4 gigs of ram and an i3 550 CPU, 1tb hdd and a disc drive oh and the graphics card, but as I said the graphics card is the SuperClocked edition so I think it has a higher base clock than the standard oc edition, it looks identical to the photo btw...

It should be fine. I am running my computer on a 520W power supply. As long as the power supply is good, you should be fine. 600 would be the sweet spot, since you can upgrade to whatever you want in the future. 600W is enough to run any SINGLE card (well, maybe not titan)

Yeah, I think I might buy the Corsair CX600w PSU, to 'hit that sweet spot' Thanks for the re-assurance!

wise choice, i have 3 Corsair PSU's now and all 3 work like a charm!, i have a CX500, a TX750 and an AX1200i

though... let me know how the CX600 performs, my CX500 runs HOT!

Bought the PSU, arrived today, run super cool and quiet when running GTA IV at 60+ frames on Very High settings! Couldn't be happier! Thanks for all your support!
