Would I be able to run older games on this computer

I don't know all of the details of this computer, since I'm only thinking of buying it. All it says is it's an HP Desktop, 6 core AMD phenom processor, 8GB ram, 1GB of dedicated ram, 1.5TB hard drive. $300

But he said it has 2.7GHZ. Since I'm kind of a noob, this is the part that troubles me. I know what this is, but I know nothing of how this is affected by this type of processor.

By "older games" I don't mean games from the 1990s or budget games from the early 2000s. Basically I mean would it be alright for gaming, but you must take note of the fact that I'm not a hardcore gamer. I'd just occasionally play games like Oblivion on decent settings. No Skyrim or anything like that.

Please find out which model of Graphics card it has, as that would be the main factor as to whether or not it can run the games you mentioned. The rest of the Specs seem fine the processor is mostly a Phenom II X6.

That is quite an entry level card, but it should be able to play oblivion on low settings.

you can always upgrade the video card. but that would cost extra.
