My pc won't boot inside the case but the test boot went fine

This is my first computer build and when I began the test boot outside the case everything worked but when I put it in the case nothing is turning on but the motherboard power LED is lit to show there is power to the motherboard. I don't understand why won't it boot up even when I short the correct pins or connect the power button socket

So I took everything out tested it and it still works and all the grounding screws are in the correct places I'm still not sure what's wrong
 


something is shorting out in the case. you will have to find what it is. most likely something behind the motherboard, a standoff in the wrong place perhaps. examin the back of the motherboard, see if there are any high points where component pins/solder may be protruding too much.
