Hello everyone, i am planning to buy a new gfx and i currently have 2 options:
1. Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce GT 630 2gb DDR3
2. Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 6670 1gb DDR3

i know that the 6670 out performs the gt 630 by a margin but the problem is that i have heard from some of my friends having an amd gfx and many people on internet that the amd catalyst slows down the pc, is that true?? and currently i have 9600gt 512mb and if i buy gt 630 2gb how much perfomance boost would i get with 2gb vRam.. any help would be appreciated. Thanx in advance

Hey Elite,
Why go with Gigabyte ,
by the way here is your comparison b/w these two cards
R6670 having better Wider memory bus @ 128 bit where Gt 630 Having With 64bit
memory bandwidth Of 6670 is much more @ 25.6 GB/s while gt 630 @ 14.4 GB/s

R6670 having good floating point performance {How fast the gpu can crunch numbers}
768 GFLOPS
where Gt 630 having 692.7 GFLOPS
6670 having GDDR3 memory {if you found Gddr5 Is too Better}
As comared to gt 630 having only ddr3 memory

My recommandation is R6670 To buy having much more Performance

If you are online buyer i will Suggest you a good R6670
tell me your Budget Dude!!

no ,amd Driver doen't slow down your pc

Thanx for the fast response.. i am actually buying from a local retailer and so he only has the gigabyte version available.. so as u have suggested i will go for the 6670, the only thing i wanted to be clarified was the perfomance impact of amd drivers... thanx i will buy the 6670
