Hi guys, I've been looking through some laptops for mid range gaming and came across 2 lenovos that had decent specs for their prices. I was wondering, does the extra 1GB on the slightly worse GT635M makes it any better performance wise in comparison to the 740M? Thanks

Are you sure because I've been reading around and the general consensus seems to be that the difference between 1GB and 2GB of VRAM isn't that noticeable as I'm only using a laptop screen and not intending to use multiple monitors.

2gb vram is pointless for a notebook and particularly any mobile graphics adapter that's not powerful enough to utilise those vrams. Also your resolution is a key factor here. Neither of those cards aren't powerful enough to run most modern games at high settings at 1080p

gt740m is quite a bit more powerful than a gt635m(scores around 80% more in 3dmark11) performs better at games like battlefield 3 etc
