Windows 8 Locked Out

I installed Windows 8 on a system and it has not been touched since. It was turned on today and all of a sudden it is asking me for a password that I never put in and the password hint is E-Mail. Have no idea why this is and apparently this has happened to other people before. Need an answer ASAP. thank you.

Win 8, when installed, requires an email address for setup. That is the password, the email address used at setup. Maybe you created a Hotmail email address at install?

When you first install Windows 8 and create a user, by default that user is a Microsoft Account which is linked to an email address and a Live ID. Your password is universal across all Microsoft Account access points, thus if you have a Windows Live email, your password for your computer would be the same as for that account.
