Sound isnt detected while earphones are plugged

windows 8 (64bit) doesnt detect sound from the built in mic while earphones are connected,while earphones are not connected it detects the sound,how do i fix this ? (does windows,or real rec detect the earphones as microphones)

Don't know which audio manager you are using. If its realtek hd audio then open it from control panel and click on Device advance settings. In the new dialog box select separate all input jacks as independent input devices. hit OK.
