First time opening up a computer to upgrade my gpu and psu what should I look for?

I have a dx4840 desktop and I am upgrading the gpu to a gtx 650ti boost superclocked and the psu to a corsair builder series cx600 what should I look out for? Is it straight forward in the installation or will it be very complicated and should I get help from a professional or is this something a amiture can do?
