COOLER: ZALMAN 120
MOBO: Gigabyte P55A-UD3
RAM: 8 gigs of Crucial Ballistics @ 1.5V Timing 7-7-7
GPU: Just bought GTX 760 SC (Was a GTX 470; OC'd it)
PSU: Coolmax 1200W

CASE: AZZA Solano 1000

Looking at new Rig:

RAM: (Thinking 8/16, I know 8 is fine but whats another 70bucks) G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-16GXM or G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-1866C9D-16GXM
PSU- HX850W Corsair HX Series
SSD: 128 Samsung Pro 840 Series (OS)
HDD: 2TB 7200RMP 64MB Seagate Barracuda
GPU: Purchase another GTX760 SC to run SLI
CASE:Rosewill BLACKHAWK-ULTRA Gaming Super

The PSu you have now is total junk.

If you are just gaming and not rendering or encoding video, get an i5 not an i7.

That motherboard is pretty overkill.

Everything else looks good. You are right about the RAM. Windows nor any game ever will use even close to 8gb so 16gb will just sit there and do nothing. It will be like you have 8gb anyway. Nothing will be different.

I see that a lot, the i5 instead if i7, due to the HT right? Is it just because it gives off more heat, or the extra $100 to shell out? Worth going from 1600MHZ to 1866MHZ for RAM and get 8G only?

I see the point there, but what about other tasks at hand? Also, is it worth upgrading though from an overall stand point. I know there will be gains overall, plan on waiting till black fri/cyber mon to buy most this stuff anyways. Money is only money anyways

well I already have a 760, was going to stay with one really, but a bigger monitor came into my mind possibly, but also batman is free with a purchase, so that made me want to put SLI of the 760's lol.

Mostly gaming, but do other work on the computer as well (some video/photo editing, some programming not to much) Just trying to update the computer pretty much as this is a 4/5 year old build. I know tech gets outdated every day, just wondering if it is time now.
