Can't get my monitor to work, just built first PC everything is running and plugged in.

All my fans are working, you can feel and hear the hard drive working, optical is working. Graphics cards fans are running, and yet when I plug in my monitor I am getting nothing. And the monitor does work when plugged into my laptop. (First time building pc..)

This may seem like a silly question, but coming off your power supply should be a 4 or 8 pin connector that goes into a 4 or 8 pin plug near your CPU. Is this connector plugged in?

As a system builder myself, I frequently forget to plug this little guy in at the end of changing stuff around, and when you start up without that, that can tend to happen.

Yes it is plugged in, the cord says CPU and I am 99% sure it is in the right spot.

There's your problem. Plug it into your graphics card. Your motherboard's onboard graphics are not active when there's a card in the PCI-E slot.

Ok! My graphics card came with a converter to the hdmi, i plugged that all together to my monitor and still no picture....I again verified that my monitor works on my laptop.
