i bought a new dvd set (tapout xt) they work on my dvd player but not on my laptop (pavilion dv6)

i have had my hp pavilion dv6 for almost a year now and regularly updated.
last week i bought a new set of dvd's (tapout xt) for fitness training but they did not work on my laptop dvd drive.
when i insert the dvd in the drive it does not recognise it,
any feed back please

Yes they work but i think those dvds were locked somehow for security reasons not to be pirated
