Hi , i accidentally plugged the 6 pin PCI-E into my CPU 4-pin. Now it wont turn on. i went throught the normal checklist ( thats how i discovered that i used the wrong plug ). i really depend on this computer and can afford to replace it.

Not sure how you plugged it in even or didn't notice that there was 2 pins that weren't even meant to attach.

The 4 pin power has 2x12v pins across the top, 2xground on the bottom. The PCIe connector has 3x12v pins on the bottom, 3xground on the top, so you basically sent 12v through the grounds.

You probably did fry something as you sent power backwards through the motherboard. Added to the fact that it won't even turn on, I would say you toasted it.
