Bad Dimm slot

I am having a problem with DIMM slot number 2 (the blue one), if I were to install my two-2 gig sticks of memory in slot 3 and 4(the brown slots), would this solve my bad Dimm issue? In other words, will the bad number 2 slot effect the 3 and 4 slots running the memory?

If the slot is bad, wouldn't use the mobo, no telling what it might damage, have no idea what hardware you have....but might check CPU and socket for debris, bent/broken pins, thermal compound - it's a common cause of MC problems, if it's the MC rather than the slot
