ID 1
Value 200
Threshold 51
Worst 200
Warranty 1

im running a western digital velociraptor 1tb

could somebody please explain what the threshold of 51 and the Value of 200 means? is my drive going bad?

the parameter yo want to pay attention to is reallocated sectors

raw read errors are what they say they are, a read where the checksum doesnt equate so the data is usually reread first , or a few times, and if its still errors then ECC is used to recalculate the data.

whats important is that it stays the same. When it starts climbing then its time to start looking for a replacement.
Often what happens is you get a bunch then it will stay at that level for a while and then it will start climbing again and you'll get 10x as many. Once they hit the data part of the drive they can start causing freezes, blue screens, reboots...

other times the whole drive goes to crap real fast and you need to shop that night.

As always, you're important data should never be trusted to just 1 device. backups are key to surviving drive failures.
