I am trying to burn a program to a cd and windows 8 says I don't have the right app. I went to windows store and I don't even see it there. You wrote

To burn CD or DVD, the computer must have a physical optical media burner properly installed in the computer, and the appropriate device driver for the hardware must be installed as well. Once these prerequisites are met, burning an optical media using Windows 8 built-in burning feature is easy!

How do I know if I have this. Also, how do I get to the installer.exe of the program to burn to cd?

Is there a way to post a screenshot on here so I can show you where the program is?

Thanks!

Why are you using a Disc, not a Flash Drive? Anyway, not my concern so...
Q1:You have a disk drive, correct?
Q2:Are you using a full legitimate version of Windows 8?
If your answer if yes to both of those, then...

Step one: Put in an EMPTY disc in your tray.
Step two: Open the disc in a window: Click the folder icon that should be pinned on your bottom task bar. Select your Disc Drive on the left hand menu.
Step three: Open (in a separate window) the folder that your .exe is in.
Step four: Click and drag the .exe from the folder into the window of the blank disk.
Step five: Celebrate!
