Where to start/

Welcome aboard! Very glad to have you with us. :)

I highly recommend you start here:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/32691-12-read-first

And then read over the community FAQ here:
http://www.tomshardware.com/community/faq.html

This will give you a good idea about our community and the standards we all adhere to, as well a short introduction to some of the features.

As Jack mentioned, you can post any question you might have, or dive right into answering them (if you know the answer), or dish with the discussion threads.

Welcome again, and I'll see you out there. :)

That would vary based on what you intend to do on this forum. If you're here to ask for help or advice, simply submit a thread with your questions, and wait for folks to happen by and answer them. If, on the other hand, you have expertise to contribute, you may wish to watch the forum live feed, checking threads that seem to be within your areas of expertise, and then attempting to answer the questions therein.
