I have a Vostro 1400 with a Core 2 Duo and XP pro. How about adding an Express card ssd and upgrading to Windows 7? I've heard that XP is not great for running ssds. Any issues I should be aware of it I tried to do this? Thanks!

Thanks lone wolf. Actually, I was just thinking of having the documents and settings folder there. The system is slow now but would that give me enough of a boost to run 7?

If you want the express card for a no-boot device, then it will not boost any performance. If you want the card as boot device then you have to check the BIOS if it supports from booting a express card.

You can check for BIOS update on vendors site. Look for the specific update for booting from express card, if its there, then update the BIOS. You can find that info under change log or something similar.
