I am attempting to build my first PC. I'm a comp-sci major and will be using it for programming but mostly gaming.

Thank you so much man. Everything that you listed was an upgrade in performance from my previously selected parts? And for the ram, I was thinking about upgrading down the road to 16gb, should i still use the 2 sticks of 4gb corsair? And the power supply you listed isn't bronze plus. does that make a difference?

Yea, anything that changed was an upgrade . Also the Bronze plus is just the power rating, and I really think it doesn't make much of a difference maybe a a few dollars a month more? ( if even that). Also for the 16gb upgrade, I highly doubt you will need to upgrade until at least 3 years. The 8gb sticks of corsair should do great.
