Ok so I am currently running an AMD cpu and I want to upgrade to an Intel chipset but I am a bit stumped. Would I need to get a new Mobo, GPU etc or could I keep them the same? Here are my specs:

CPU: AMD Bulldozer FX-4100
MOBO: ASRock 960GM-GS3 FX
GPU: Gigabyte - NVidia Geforce GT430
PSU: 500w

The only things you will need to buy is a new Motherboard and a new CPU.
You may also have to check the wattage of the new Motherboard and CPU to make sure your PSU can handle the change (if it increases in Wattage)

If this for a gaming rig then you can save a little bit of money buying the i5-3570k. Games don't rally make use of hyper threading so from a gaming perspective you don't need an i7 CPU.

If you are using programs that can take advantage of HT, then that's different.
