I have just replaced a shorted MB so one that will save and shut down would be the best option?

Im still on a learning curve as this is the first work station i have built so im unsure on how i calculate the size of the UPS that would be best suited.

A small one will be enough. You just need to immediately start saving everything and shutting down as soon as you notice power went out.

The UPS needs to be able to output 1050W though, to keep up with your PSU. That's what might be expensive... And maybe 1100W if you take into account your monitor too (no idea how much does it use).

From where will you be ordering? I can take a look at what that website has to offer.
