Ive never had this sort of thing done before, but I don't understand how a 30 min - 60 min installation could cost so much. Also there are two fairly expensive charges on there that don't pertain to my vehicle at all I was wondering if someone here could explain that and if this cost is justified at all.

Thanks.

With a new set of speakers and a new head unit it seems about right. Everything on there is applicable to your vehicle. The head unit install price is pretty standard although $150 to install the speakers seem a little high. That is a really easy install to do. You could probably do it yourself and save +$200 or spend it on some much better gear.

do some research and do it urself, for that price you could have that and decent amp and subwoofers. youtube is a great place to find tutorials, most speaker replacements take less than 20 minutes a speaker. all it is is usually pop the door panel off unscrew/unclip the oem speakers disconnect two wires connect the new speaker screw it in and put the door panel back on.

You can't get a decent amp and a subwoofer for the cost of the install. $200 will get you a cheap sub and amp but then there's still the box, fuse and holder and cables. For my money I'd keep the stock speakers and install an amp and a 10" sub. Having all the bass come out of the subwoofer and a different head unit will improve the sound more than a different head unit and speakers.

For around $220 you can pick up a re srx12d2 and an apcl10001d and spen maybe an extra 30 on a sealed box, it is a good sq sub as long as you get the reccomended cubic feet right

I'd get a second estimate from an auto shop before trusting the geek squad people to do it. They do tend to be convenience-priced.
