GTX295 still useful?

So my science teacher has one he wants to give me for free. Will it still run games well?

I bet your teacher use it for non-gaming purpose . if sli working properly maybe they will perform as good as gtx 650 boost? Cant say for sure but for newer generation of card but for older card 295 is about as good as 480 or 570. If sli not working maybe they perform around gtx550ti to gtx650 range. Anyway what is your current card? Old or not it was given to you for free so if your current gpu is slow than 295 then it should provide nice upgrade to you. Though you have to be mindful about your psu because the card suck a lot of power : p
