do I have to install/ uninstall any software when replacing my processor?

So I have bought a processor AMD PhenomII which is best for my current motherboard. I have watched few videos and know how to physically replace it but none say do I have to do something more than replace the chip. Do I need to install uninstall anything inside windows? Help and thanx

The only thing that is possibly necessary is a bios update. Just look at the mobo's page on the manufacturer's website under CPU support and see what bios revision is necessary for that specific CPU.
