I want to know If everything matches and/or if i should change something. I would rather not go up in price but if it would make a huge difference then maybe I can spend a little more money.


Approximate Purchase Date: As soon as possible. Can wait a few weeks if something good is coming up.

Budget Range: ~2150

System Usage from Most to Least Important:

Video editing,( from 30 sec stuff to 15 min projects. But nothing longer than that. Several projects at the same time though). Otherwise just casual surfing, movie watching and some photo editing in photoshop and lightroom.

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Overclocking: Probably no.

SLI or Crossfire: No, not right now.

Additional Comments: I want a solid video editing build that will last for some time.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Sitting on a cheap laptop from 2008 right now, so, well yeah.

It's a good start but your funds are a bit mismanaged. You can definitely get a better GPU than a 650TI Boost for that kind of money, and you can also get a better monitor. For an X79 build you will need 4 sticks of RAM as opposed to two, due to the fact that it is a quad channel system. I would also suggest getting a better monitor, you don't want to settle for a regular 1920 x 1080P monitor, the new ultra wide 2560 x 1080 would be better, or 2560 x 1440 would be a better choice for video editing. I switched out the air fan for a liquid cooler, put a more professional quality GPU in the build, and used more appropriate RAM.

SSD is good to be big. It is not overkill to get 512GB SSD. Second thing. Good to have cashing SSD this can be small 64-128GB.

Memory you need lot. 16GB is just for start point. Better take 32GB first and test how it works.

HDD build. Best is if you have 2 x 1-1.5TB drives in RAID 0 + 3TB drive for storage room.

No need for video card over the GTX 760 is sure fast enough.

And psu good 550w psu is enough. Like this.

Id stick with that GTX 650. Put more money to SSD:s and HDD:s andmemory.
Then you make best investment of your money for your use.

The 4930K isn't due until later this year and there will be a new chipset that will take full advantage of Ivy Bridge-E, I think it's X77.
