Hey guys, I was wondering, what's the best 1080p, 60-120-240+ fps camcorder? I'd like it to look professionnal, but that's not a necesity.

1920 x 1080p / 60 fps (36Mbps)
1280 x 720p / 60 fps
Standard Definition
AVCHD
640 x 360 / 120 fps
640 x 360 / 240 fps
640 x 360 / 300 fps
Standard Definition
AVCHD
320 x 176 / 420 fps
320 x 176 / 600 fps

I'm not saying it's the best and you will notice that the higher the fps the lower the resolution. The plus is that it is on sale for $899 at B&H and on Amazon.

Hi Razerium - there are a few 720/120p cameras in your price range, and several VGA 240fps cameras, but, sadly, there is no 1080p camera with a frame rate over 60fps for less than the cost of a Sony FS700 ($7279 body only, $7780 with lens).

Several of the action cameras (e.g., the GoPro Hero 3 Black, the Sony HDR-AS10/AS15 and the Panasonic HX-A100) can shoot 720/120p - but they are not very capable camcorders (no zoom, etc)

Panasonic also makes 3 other cameras capable of recording at 720/120p, the LX7 and ZS30 point and shoots and the best slow motion camera below $1000 - the Panasonic DMC-FZ200 superzoom.

Here is what this camera can do at 120fps (please watch at 720p):

I recommend you stay away from the JVC GC-PX100 "slow motion camera" - its slow motion modes are all at resolutions lower than 720p (VGA or worse)

Hope this is helpful!

Bill

This one looks good, but isn't it a normal camera which just has the ability to record video? Or is it really a camcorder, with the ability to take pictures
