Hey guys,

Gaming PC specs:
ASUS Maximus V Formula
Intel i5 3750k(plan to overclock to 4.5ghz)
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
ASUS GTX 670 DCU II 4gb
Kingston HyperX Predator 8gb kit(2x4) 2400mhz
Antec HCG 620W Modular
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM
LG Bluray Burner Combo
Thermaltake Armor Revo Black Case(4 fans)

I've just set up my new Gaming PC today, installed Windows 7, popped in the ASUS support DVD which came with the motherboard & completely confused about what drivers & utilities I need to install. Which drivers & utilities do I absolutely need? I know I'm definitely going to need a driver for my GPU but other then that, I'm completely lost :(

Here's a list of drivers & utilities on the DVD:
Drivers -
Intel Chipset Driver
Realtek Audio Driver
Intel LAN Driver
Management Engine Interface
Intel USB 3.0 Driver
ASUS Bluetooth4.0 Wi-Fi Driver
Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver software
Asmedia SATA Controller Driver
APRP Utility
Utilities -
ASUS AI Suite II
ASUS ROG Connect
ASUS ROG Connect Plus
ASUS ROG Theme
ROG GameFirst II
ASUS Webstorage
Disk Unlocker
Mem TweakIt
ASUS Boot Setting
LucidLogix Virtu MVP Wizard
LucidLogix Virtu MVP Software
Intel Rapid Start Technology
Intel Smart Connect Technology

Sorry for such a long post, I just really need some help in installing the correct drivers & utilities so I can jump into gaming asap, have been without a PC for 3 months since my previous PC died on me :( so yeah, any help or advice would be very much appreciated, thanks in advance :)

You need all the drivers, but the utilities are optional.

Also, it is recommended you go to Asus' homepage and get the LATEST drivers for your motherboard, as the ones on your DVD will most likely be dated a bit.

Good luck!

Go to your device manager (Right Click My Computer->Click Properties->Click Device Manager) and see what devices are showing uninstalled. I would start by installing any of those drivers that are missing. Otherwise, if everything is working fine and you're not having any issues, I wouldn't go installing every driver on the disc. Just my opinion, though.

Thanks for the quick reply guys.
I read somewhere before that certain drivers such as the Intel Chipset Driver aren't necessary? I want drivers & utilities that are only absolutely necessary for my system to run good & play games.

Did you check your device manager to see which drivers were needing to be installed still?

I would start by installing the following. After you do that, reboot and check what is left with exclamation marks.

ASUS Bluetooth4.0 Wi-Fi Driver
Intel LAN Driver
Intel USB 3.0 Driver
Asmedia SATA Controller Driver
Intel Chipset Driver
