The i3 3220 is an amazing processor.you will be fine even if you go for the gtx 660 or amd 7870.i would stick with the i3.but still it cant be denied an upgrade to an i5 will be better.:)

If you already have a compatible mobo and doing a upgrade, its a nobrainer geht the i5. It will be helpfull in well threaded games like crysis 3

For games that only use 2 cores, the Core i3 is fine. However, for games that can take advantage of more than 2 core the Core i5 will be better. Crysis 3 is an extreme example of a game that runs much better on a Core i5, than a Core i3. I believe the difference is 40% higher FPS with the Core i5.

As stated, Crysis 3 is an extreme example. Other CPU demanding games that can use more than 2 cores (like Hitman:Absolution) typically gains about a 15% performance boost with a Core i5 compared to a Core i3. Still very playable though.

If you have the money buy a Core i5. If you don't then buy the Core i3 or consider a quad core FX-4xxx CPU or a 6 core FX-6xxx CPU.

What this guys are saying is true.if u have the money, upgrade to an i5. As u will notice performance boost in cpu intensive games.if not just stick to an i3 and get a good gpu.i have an intel core 2 duo e7600 3.06ghz and Msi 6770 1Gb gddr5 and i can play crysis 3 on medium setting with aa off on a 1366x768 resolution.an i3 is stronger than my e7600,so basically u wont have a problem paired with an awesome gpu.still an upgrade is nice.(the new i7 maybe:p)
