So I accidentally killed the mother board on my Dell dimension 4550 by vacuuming out the case.
I bought an external shell and installed the old harddrive. I figured I could get my old files and have an exteral back up for the future. I hooked up to an old Toshiba Sattelite laptop I was gifted.I can see and open everything except my documents! I can open other users docs. Both computers are windows xp os.
Heres the error message
E:\documents and settings\bo vanderkloot is not accessible. Access denied.
I did have a password on user account on the old machine.I have no formal computer knowledge I just learn as I go. Any one that can help would be greatly appreciated. Im afraid following nonspecific directions from other threads may lead me to screw up more. Thanks Bo
