hello i have had this card about a week now.first off i have noticed low fps in most games.

today i was checking on the gpu clock using precision x and noticed that the card has a
base clock of 1046 mhz
boost clock of 1124 mhz

so after using precision x its showing me that that its boosting to 1228 mhz and the temps do sky rocket really quick.is this normal

I do know that stress testing does make things like gpu+cpu go high in temps but still don't think it should be hitting 1228 mhz without overclocking it.

asus m5a97 le r2.0
amd fx6300
evga gtx 660 ti ftw 2gb
corsair gs800
seagate ssd hybrid

any info would be great

thanks

Do you know the maximum temperature it reached? If you dont, then download GPU-Z http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/SysInfo/GPU-Z/
after opening it, choose sensors tab, then play normally, and go to it and click on the temperature textbox until a green MAX word shows up and post the temp here so i can know if it is safe or dangerous.

So, are the temps okay? If you are not sure about them, just do what i said in the previous post and add your temps while heavy load as in gaming for example, and we will see if they are abnormal.
