trying to build pc 300-500 budget

okay right now i have a laptop and a xbox 360 i want to get a pc becasue i dont wanna pay 60 bucks a year for live ps plus okay so my price range is 300-400$ i can go to 500$ if neccesary okay i have no clue whats parts to buy i want to be able to play atleast battlfield 3 on medium, no os or keyboard or mouse are i within this budget this is just for the pc i have a hdmi and mi just gonna hook it up to my tv
