Im setting up linux on my newly built gaming rig and i was wondering how i should partition my hard drive. I have the option to erase the disk and install ubuntu which will make use of my entire 2TB hard drive, or i can partition it myself. What does everyone recommend? And the only reason Im using linux was to try it out. Thanks in advance

Its really up to you how to partition the drive, however in general its recommend for you to just use the automatic partitioning unless you need separate partitions for some reason.

You could also make one ~200gb partition for Ubuntu and leave the rest for data.

The advantage to Skittle's plan is that in the future when you want to upgrade or reinstall the system your data needn't be bothered since it's off on it's own partition.
