should I upgrade my core i3-2120?

I have the core i3-2120 with a geforce 550ti 2gb graphics card. is it worth it to upgrade to the core i5-3570k? I have a micro atx mobo 1155. 8gb ram.

Your current CPU can handle day-to-day tasks + gaming just fine, but if you can, get the 3570k with a nice cooler, O'C it, and see the huge difference

If you can go with an AMD 8320 or 8350, good 8 core processors. The next gen-consoles will use 8 core AMD cpu's and games will take advantage of that. But if you get an AMD CPU you need a new motherboard. So... if you are very brand conscious and do not want to do a complete overhaul then get the 3570k. I also recommend the i5 4570k if you have the money, but then again you need a new motherboard. Otherwise I would upgrade to a Radeon 7950 or a GTX 760 if you have the money. GPU>CPU. thanks,I understand your point about the next gens, think I'll stick with Intel though. I'm a little brand conscious I play a lot of multiplayer games, such as many MMORPG's (at 1920x1080p). I figure I would upgrade the CPU first in order to handle more players on the screen, but I'm not sure. In that situation would upgrading the graphics card first to a GTX 760 (the one I was looking at) show a greater increase in performance, along with a more consistent framrate?

Gtx 760 or 7950 are booth good, equal in performance, get whichever one is cheaper.
