RAM Compatibility Question

So currently I only have 4GB of RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231474 and I planned on upgrading to 8GB. However, I came across this ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231550 that has almost the same exact specs but the timing is 9-10-9 whereas my timing is 9-10-9-28. So my question is, would it be possible to add in the new 8GB kit to my existing 4GB to have a total of 12GB? And if it will not work due to the timing aspect, could I override it in my BIOS to make it match the timing of the other ram?

If running them at a lower speed (1600 or 1333), they might work. What motherboard?
