Power for new PC (no calculators)

I'm building my first PC and I am not sure what amount of power I would need. I've tried a few power calculators but they are giving me WAY lower results than what seems correct, so I must be entering in the data wrong.

At the moment I think about 600w should do it, but would I need less ore more?

Without looking at a calculator I would guess your system would use 390-470W (depending on overclock on graphics). 500W would be fine, the 600W you have looked at will allow for more overclocking headroom and future upgrades.

Big power Items are CPU 84W TDP, GPU 170W non OC so around 230 with OC, MEM 15W per DIMM, HDD around 10-15W
