Hi.
I am looking to Buy myself a new gpu.
I am thinking of 6670 or 6770 as options.
one I found had 128-bit bus and seemed quite good.
but I want to know if I will be able to play games like Shogun 2, Rome 2, Skyrim and Witcher series?
I prefer high settings, but I can get along with medium and low.
btw, I am gonna play them at 1024*768 or higher.
my cpu is e8500 core2. and I have 4 gigabytes of ram.
thanks

Yeah, you shouldn't go for better graphics, CPU will bottleneck, yes choose whatever you want, don't excpect Skyrim on Ultra though due to the lack of RAM but yes, they will play games, most definately! Not sure about Quality though sorry.

MSI is briliant! I would reckon you could get Skyrim going on Medium at 50 FPS at 1024 x 768 I would say it'll drop 5-10 frames each time you step resolution up!

what about the other games I mentioned?
also , a slightly off topic question. since the specs I gave is the specs I am going to buy to upgrade my current pc(p4, 2gb ram , 6200 gpu) , is it better for me to buy the 8500 (available for 20$ . not sure it's new or second hand).
I might also be mistaking, so how will the 5800 do?
how about a quad? take note that I do not want to change my lga 775 mobo.
thanks

I would disagree with the bottleneck most of the time; I havent experienced it only in games where I would expect it (Shogun, SCII, etc.) but Skyrim generally runs fine. I run a Celeron G530 in one of my other computers with the same GTS250, and it runs Skyrim very smoothly.

Depending on the resolution though, the CPU may or may not be the bottleneck.

Since you use it I cannot argue! But my point was not getting like 7850 or some shit! But yeah, How many FPS do you get in Skyrim Deemo?

Well yea, a 7850 would be overkill. I run it with a set of SLI GTS250's and I get 60+ fps most of the time. I play with most of my settings on medium to high, with AA off.

It definitely runs better on my 2500K, but just for casual Skyrim and most regular gaming (excluding the likes of BF3/4 on max settings) the E8400 works great.

I am going to have a hard time choosing the best answer . thanks guys.
will I be able to run skyrim mods?
and what about witcher 2?
deemo, have you experienced bottleneck with shogun 2?
because shogun 2 and rome 2 are two main reasons I am upgrading.
also, I am paying near 100$ for this gpu. is it worth the money?
the one I am buying is a 2gb msi with 128-bit bandwidth but I can't remember if it was gddr3 or 5

I would get the Radeon HD 7750 instead of the HD 6770. They both have the same performance, but the HD 7750 consumes less power. I would not bother with the HD 6670 especially if you are considering the HD 6670 DDR3 version. That graphics card is slower than the Radeon HD 5670. Only consider graphics cards with DDR5 RAM.

I recommend the following XFX Radeon HD 7750 DDR5 card for $65 after rebate:

Here is a link to a review of the Radeon HD 7750 and it also includes the HD 6670 DDR5 card. Below is an example of one of the benchmarks. Note that the test rig uses an Intel Core i7 920 @ 3.8 GHz so your results will be lower.

Highest quality graphics with 4x AA and AF
