In cleaning up my XP desktop, Some OE folders and contents disappeared from OE6. They were not in my OE Store folder but I found them in the Recycle Bin as .bak files. Not wanting to risk losing them for good, while I messed about trying to get them back in place, I moved them into a new folder on the desktop.
Later I discovered that I could restore them to their places by right clicking the file and selecting 'restore'. But by then I'd moved the files into several different places trying to herd them back into OE without success. And when I clicked on 'restore' they would just move to the last folder.
Then I tried 'import', 'messages', 'from OE6 store directory' entered the file location and clicked next.
Got a BONG and message saying the file was in use by OE 6 (it wasn't open) or the messages could not be read. Right clicked the file , selected 'properties' and unchecked 'Read Only'.
Tried again with no joy.
STUCK!
